Digital Photographic Restoration
Using Adobe Photoshop. I utilize the existing image to correct and restore the original ambiance to the image intrusted to me. Returning the original Photograph usually within hours or at most a day. If the image can be scanned in and emailed to me with correct resolutions I may never need the original. The finished product can be corrected and on CD in your hands or inbox in as little as 24 hours depending on the extent of the damage and the amount of work ahead of yours.
In a Previous post, I shared some black and white restorations. For some reason a lot of black and white work comes in and once in a while I get to work in Color Restorations like the one above. The Image at the top is exactly what was handed to me. As you can see, a parade with the High School band was occurring. Over time, the emulsion was damaged along with smoke damage had occurred. The young lady on the right later obtained the original from her mother, wanting to restore it to its original glory. She came to me and within 72 hrs I had the image at the base of this display ready and her original back. I printed the image a bit larger than her original (5x7) and provided it to her on a CD.
A sample of my works on a black and white restoration. Cracks and discoloration of the image had occurred over time. The little boy in the picture is in his late 50's now and wanted to preserve this image of his youth. I scanned the photo in and immediately returned it to him and in 48 hrs he had his restored photo in his hand. Color corrected, cracks fixed and printed and a CD of the work.
Did this restoration for the preservation of a photo. Nicotine residue had saturated the photograph along with prolonged UV exposure. The emulsion changed to a yellowish tint and the crack down the middle was about to divide the image in two. Retouching and enlarging a bit with some correction to the color, the photograph was preserved.
